Embark on an unforgettable 4-day adventure through the heart of Morocco, journeying from the vibrant city of Marrakech to the historic Medina of Fes. Cross the soaring High Atlas Mountains, wander through ancient kasbahs like Aït Ben Haddou, and marvel at the dramatic landscapes of the Dades and Todra Gorges. Ride camels into the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi and spend a magical night under the starlit Sahara sky. This immersive road trip blends rich culture, breathtaking nature, and authentic desert experiences into a once-in-a-lifetime journey.
Depart early from Marrakech and cross the spectacular High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260m), stopping for panoramic views and traditional Berber villages. Explore the iconic fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its appearance in numerous films. Continue to Ouarzazate, often called the “Hollywood of Africa,” for a quick visit to the Taourirt Kasbah or Atlas Studios. In the late afternoon, travel through the Valley of the Roses and the Road of 1,000 Kasbahs, reaching the beautiful Dades Gorge for dinner and overnight in a traditional guesthouse or riad.
After breakfast, explore the striking landscapes of Dades Gorge, then drive toward Todra Gorge, a dramatic canyon carved into the mountains with walls soaring up to 300 meters—perfect for a short walk or photo stop. Continue to the edge of the Sahara, arriving in Merzouga in the late afternoon. Here, your camel caravan awaits to take you on a sunset trek across the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Spend the night in a desert camp, enjoying dinner under the stars and traditional Berber music by the fire.
Start your day with breakfast at your Merzouga desert camp or hotel. At 9:00 AM, begin your adventure with a guided 4×4 tour around the Erg Chebbi dunes. This off-road journey takes you deep into the Sahara to visit authentic Berber nomad families, giving you a unique opportunity to learn about their lifestyle and traditions. Continue to Khamlia village, where you’ll enjoy live Gnawa music—a spiritual and rhythmic performance rooted in African culture. You’ll also visit fossil sites, admire desert oases, and stop for panoramic views of the golden sand dunes.
