Let me start by saying that we did not book the full desert tour, as we found another company for that. However, Moroko Tour helped us with a private driver, Brahim, who took us from Merzouga to Marrakech with an overnight stay in a lovely riad in the Dades Valley. It was just my girlfriend and I, and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Brahim assisted us with every request, was very flexible, and made the whole trip smooth and enjoyable. We can truly recommend this agency!

My friends and I joined a private 2-day, 1-night Sahara tour arranged by Ali. It was a wonderful experience and will undoubtedly remain an unforgettable journey in our lives. Ali is a very reliable guide, and we all liked him very much. If we have the chance to return to Morocco, Ali will definitely still be our choice.

The first stop is in the clean and alpine-style town of Ifrane, often referred to as the “Switzerland of Morocco” due to its European-style architecture and snowy winters. Continue to the cedar forests of Azrou, where you may encounter playful Barbary macaques in their natural habitat. Driving further south, pass through the towns of Midelt and Errachidia, surrounded by the dramatic peaks of the High Atlas. Lunch can be enjoyed in Midelt, famous for its apple orchards and fresh mountain air. As you continue, marvel at the stunning Ziz Valley, a lush corridor of palm groves stretching for miles along the river, dotted with fortified villages and kasbahs. Several scenic viewpoints offer breathtaking opportunities for photography. By late afternoon, arrive in the desert town of Merzouga, gateway to the immense Erg Chebbi dunes. Meet your camel caravan and ride across the towering golden dunes as the sun sets, transforming the sands into a palette of warm colors. Upon arrival at your luxury Sahara desert camp, you will be welcomed with mint tea and Moroccan hospitality. Overnight in a private, well-equipped desert tent for a magical night in the heart of the Sahara.
Wake up early to admire the magical sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes, where the desert landscape transforms with glowing shades of orange and gold. After a hearty breakfast at your camp, begin the journey towards Marrakech. Your first major stop is the spectacular Todra Gorge, where towering limestone cliffs rise up to 300 meters high, creating one of Morocco’s most dramatic natural wonders. Enjoy a short walk along the crystal-clear river that cuts through the gorge and take in the peaceful atmosphere of this oasis. Continue your drive along the famous Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, passing through palm groves and fortified villages, before reaching the cinematic town of Ouarzazate. Just nearby lies the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, a striking ksar of earthen clay architecture that has served as the backdrop for many Hollywood films and series such as Game of Thrones and Gladiator. Explore its maze-like alleys and learn about its history as a key stop along the ancient caravan routes. In the afternoon, journey back across the majestic High Atlas Mountains via the winding Tizi n’Tichka Pass, enjoying breathtaking views of valleys, peaks, and traditional Berber hamlets along the way.
