Overnight Camel Trekking Itinerary – Merzouga Sahara Experience

Your unforgettable desert journey begins in the village near Merzouga, where you'll meet our team and safely park your car. After packing a small overnight bag with your essentials, your camel trek through the Erg Chebbi dunes will begin — usually around 2 hours before sunset.

The camel ride lasts about 1.5 hours, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the silence and beauty of the Sahara. Along the way, you'll stop in the heart of the dunes to enjoy the panoramic views, take memorable photos, and, if you're up for it, try a bit of sandboarding. As the sun begins to set, you’ll witness one of the most spectacular Sahara sunsets.

Upon arrival at our desert camp, you’ll be welcomed with a refreshing glass of traditional mint tea. Being a local Berber family, we offer an authentic desert experience — including delicious Moroccan food, Berber drumming music, and a cozy overnight stay in a spacious standard or luxury tent.

The next morning, we recommend waking early to watch a breathtaking sunrise over the dunes — a truly magical moment. Afterward, enjoy a hearty Berber breakfast, and freshen up with a shower at the camp. You’ll then ride camels back to the village, or if you prefer, we can arrange a direct 4x4 transfer from the camp.
