🗓️ Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Erg Chebbi Dunes (470 km | ~7 hours driving)

Your driver will pick you up at 8:30 a.m. from your hotel or riad in Fes to begin your desert adventure.

• Our first stop is the charming town of Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its alpine-style architecture and fresh mountain air. It’s a great place for a short stroll and beautiful photo opportunities.

• Continue to Azrou’s Cedar Forest, home of the wild Barbary macaques. You’ll have time to observe the monkeys and enjoy the peaceful woodland surroundings.

• We head south through the Middle Atlas Mountains to Midelt, where you’ll stop for a relaxing lunch at a local restaurant.

• In the afternoon, drive through the Tizi n’Talghamt Pass to reach Errachidia, soaking in the impressive changing landscapes. We’ll stop for a panoramic view over the lush Ziz Valley, famous for its endless date palms.

• Pass through Aoufous and the town of Erfoud, known for its fossils and as the date capital of Morocco. You can optionally visit a local fossil workshop if interested.

• By late afternoon, we’ll arrive at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga. Here, you’ll begin your camel trek—about 1.5 hours through the golden sand dunes as the sun begins to set. You can try sandboarding, take photos, and enjoy the peaceful beauty of the Sahara.

• At the desert camp, you’ll be welcomed with a glass of mint tea, followed by a delicious traditional Berber dinner, music around the campfire, stargazing under a brilliant night sky, and an overnight stay in a nomadic tent.

🗓️ Day 2: Erg Chebbi Dunes – Fes (470 km | ~7 hours driving)

Rise early to witness the magical sunrise over the dunes, a must-see moment in the Sahara.

• After breakfast and a shower at the camp, you’ll return to Merzouga either by camel or 4WD vehicle, depending on your preference.

• You’ll meet your driver again and begin the return journey to Fes, retracing the scenic mountain route with stops along the way for photos, panoramic views, and a break for lunch.

• Expect to arrive in Fes by late afternoon or early evening, where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel or riad.
